Cusco, Machupicchu And Other Remains
Known as the "Archaeological Capital of the Americas", Cusco is a synthesis of the Colonial & Native Cultures of Peru. It is situated in the southern Andes of Per?? at an elevation of 11,056 feet above sea level and has a population of 400,000 inhabitants (tourists not included). The high season, when the weather is dry and sunny, runs from May to September. These are the months most favored by American and European travelers. Cusco is reachable by air from Lima, Arequipa, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado, and La Paz (Bolivia).
