Inca Trail

Itinerary

Day 1:

We pick you up at your hotel in Cusco early in the morning and then take you by bus to the city of Urubamba, one hour from Cusco, Km.82, where we stop for breakfast. After this break we go to Chilca where we begin the trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. After around three hours walking we stop for lunch. After finishing lunch, we move on to our first camp at Wayllabamba, taking in a guided tour of the archaeological complex of Llactapata on the way. Dinner and overnight in tents at the campsite.

Day 2:

Early wake up and breakfast. We start the trek towards the highest point on the Inca Trail where we can observe different types of microclimates. We then arrive at the Warmiwa?±usca mountain pass, at 13,779 feet above sea level. After lunch we walk to Pacaymayo where we have dinner and camp.

Day 3:

Early wake up and breakfast. We start the walk to the second most important pass on the Inca Trail Wi?±aywayna, at 12,630 ft.a.s.l. On the way we have a guided tour of the archaeological complex of Huancaracay. and later visit the Inca city of Sayacmarca and Sayacmarca. We then continue trekking towards the Inca ruins of Puyupatamarca. After having lunch we continue our trek to Wi?±aywayna, visiting its beautiful Inca citadel. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 4:

Breakfast. We start our last day's walk towards our final destination, the famous Inca City of Machu Picchu. Just before arriving there, we enjoy a wonderful view of the city from Inti Punko, or the Gate of the Sun. We then enter Machupicchu and have a guided tour of the complex for around three hours. You then have some free time to wander around, before meeting as a group to drive down to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon return to Cusco by train. Arrival and transfer to the hotel and lodging.

Notes

Included :

  • Transportation from your hotel in the morning.
  • Private bus to the start of the trail (Km. 82).
  • Machu Picchu entrance fees.
  • English speaking professional guide (two guides for groups bigger than 8 persons).
  • Tent for each two people.
  • Roll mattress.
  • Cookers and kitchen equipment.
  • 03 breakfasts / 03 lunches / 03 dinners.
  • Porters (only to carry the tents, the food, and the cooking equipment).
  • Dining tent.
  • First aid kit also includes emergency oxygen bottle.
  • Bus from Machu Picchu down to the village of Aguas Calientes.
  • Return ticket train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco.
  • Transfer from the train station to your hotel.

Not Included :

  • The first morning breakfast.
  • Lunch at Aguas Calientes town.
  • Hot springs in Aguas Calientes entrance fee.
  • Sleeping bag. They can be hired in our office in Cusco.
  • Extra tips.

Things you need to carry :

  • Backpack.
  • Sleeping bag.
  • Mattress.
  • Rain jacket, strong footwear, extra pair of clothes, sweater, warm jacket.
  • Water bottle and sterilizing tablets (You can buy them in local drugstores in Cusco).
  • Flash light and batteries.
  • Cap, sun glasses and sunblock.
  • Insect repellent.
  • Garbage bag and toilet paper for your personal use.
  • Personal snacks (chocolats, dried fruit, candies).
  • Camera (Extra films or big size memory card).
  • Binoculars.
